White Fused Alumina has high purity, high whiteness, high hardness, acid corrosion resistance, good thermal stability.
White fused alumina is one kind of electro-corundum,which produced by alumina in the electric arc furnace(titling furnace or fixed furnace) with temperature more than 2050ºC,often,we call it white fused alumina,white aluminium oxide or white corundum.
White fused alumina was obtained by the crystallization of the molten Bayer alumina feedstock in an electric arc furnace. It is commonly called white fused aluminum oxide and may also be called white corundum. The manufacture of white fused alumina is resulting in γ-Al2O3 in industrial alumina powder being completely transformed to α-Al2O3. White fused alumina is white particles or a white powder, and its microstructure is transparent crystal.
1. The Al2O3 purity is high(99%min). So the hardness & grinding ability is high with good grinding efficiency.
2. High wear-resistance. Even in high-temperature circumstances, the strength is still excellent.
3. The white fused aluminum oxide powder is suspension treated by water. So it is of flowability and easy to scatter.
4. Low oil absorption especially for water-based paint.
5. Neutral property with PH value around 7-8.
6. High whiteness. It doesn't affect the color of paints or coatings adding Al2O3 powder.
7. Resistant to most corrosive alkali and acid. It doesn't dissolve in water.
8. Resistant to high temperature up to 2050 °C.
9. Good particle size consistency without big size grains. So it prevents scratch on the grinding substrate.

White Fused Alumina is a high purity, synthetic mineral, manufacturered by the fusion of controlled quality pure grade Bayer Alumina in an electric arc furnace at temperatures greater than 2050ºC.
Application: Wear-resistant and refractory products, reusable abrasive, grinding and polishing Media, Ceramic grinding wheels, Coated Abrasives, Surface treatment, Ceramic Tiles, Anti-Skid Paints, Fluidized Bed Furnaces and Skin/Dental Care.

Application
Because of white fused alumina's hardness (9.0 on the Mohs scale), It is second only to diamond and silicon carbide. It is commonly used as a raw material in abrasive tools, blasting, lapping, polishing, and grinding. white fused alumina is also used in refractories and ceramic shapes laminates due to chemical stability, high melting point, etc.
The white fused alumina grit size for abrasive, significant differences exist in the measured particle size ranges defined by the different systems (e.g. FEPA, ANSI, ISO, JIS, etc.) used worldwide.
